Warm Fuzzies in a Box
Mr. T wrote home and asked if I could send some forgotten items to him while he is in the Missionary Training Center. I suppose I could have shoved the items he asked for in a box and shipped them to him but I had to go all Pinterest crazy and look for some cute way to send some love warm fuzzies in a box (aka: didn't feel like cleaning my house so look for and find any excuse to put it off) and saw an idea similar to this. I thought it was pretty cute and appropriate. The SM wondered why in the world I was going to so much effort to send our son underwear. Duh!! Because I can't just send our son floss, underwear, and photos of our family!! I have to make him some home made cookies too!!
"So, you're sending our son underwear and cookies together......."
Pfffft. The cookies need SOMETHING to keep them from moving around and breaking!
(Side note: Our son didn't forget his undies..... he just needs some more. He's gonna be gone for two years ya know and clothes are hand washed over in the Philippines. That's a lot of undies!!)

Maybe someone will pin this . . . but it won't be me because Pinterest is kind of scary! :)
ReplyDeleteUnderwear and cookies--makes sense to me!
Oh heavens! That's where I got the idea! I can't come up with something this creative on my own. :)
DeleteNo, no I don't think it's possible that you could have just sent a plain old box of the requested items. Nope, not at all. What a wonderful gift for him to receive! YOU hang in there too.
ReplyDeleteI had to send him these goofy things now because I knew once he left the country, mailing big packages wouldn't be an option.
DeleteI know your penchant for packing Rachel - I can still remember opening a package that you sent to me stuffed with toilet rolls as protection against things moving around - I did make me smile and Amy was hugely impressed to be using real AMERICAN toilet paper! So underwear and cookies make perfect sense. I bet he had such a wonderful time opening that package Rachel, made and filled as it was with so much love x
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness you made me laugh outright! I'd forgotten that I'd sent you good ol' American toilet paper in your package. I get that from my grandmother. She used to package fragile and breakable things in nappies/diapers. :D It's a family tradition I guess! Laughing again...
