Making memories one day at a time.......and then I write about it.

If I can't see you, you can't see me!

There are times in life when I wish I could see life through Levi's eyes. Times when I wish I could cover my eyes and if I can't see it, then it doesn't exist. But, life isn't that way and must be dealt with and dealt with in the best manner that we can.

So, maybe I can't walk around with a towel over my head but I can choose to ignore the fact that there are clothes and towels all over the bathroom floor, that something has happened to the bathroom cupboard door that I didn't notice until I took this photo, and that the bathroom counter is in disarray.

Instead I can sit and look at the cuteness that is my son and his sense of humor as he hides under a towel thinking I can't see him.

Life happens while we're making plans.

  1. Is it? Let me lift the edge of this towel and take a peek . . .

  3. When I first saw this photo I didn't see the counter in disarray or the crooked door.

I agree that we should all take time to enjoy life the way Levi does!

  4. something my SIL said to me years ago i will never forget. i was sitting in her yard...her garden of eden yard i kid you not....and i told her that it was so beautiful!! it really was so beautiful. the flowers. everything you can imagine and tons you didn't know existed. she is a master gardener. anyway. she said "when i look at my yard, all i see is work. i need to see the beauty. but mostly i see the work." that picture of levi is precious. and when i looked at that picture i saw him. well. the towel. and i felt his spirit even. did not see the other stuff. but we all do this!!! we see the mess and the laundry and everything else you pointed out. in our own bathrooms. in our own lives. i want to see the beauty and let the rest unfocus into the background. it isn't REALLY important. it just ISN'T!!! ;) thank you for posting rachel. i was missin' you darlin'.

  5. The dirty feet speak volumes only a boy could write in the time and space of summer days.

  6. Chastina, It is funny. I didn't either when this happened. I just saw Levi being goofy, it was later when I looked at the photo after I'd downloaded it that I saw everything else. Enjoy the moment. That is what it is all about.

Misty, I've missed the blogging world. It's been a crazy difficult few weeks and some things needed to go as other things took my attention. :)

I'm working on trying to see the beauty in life and let other things fade in the background. It's a work in progress.

Uncle Rush, LOL! That and the dirty knees. Shoes that are discarded and not brought out until school starts again in the fall......the way summer should be spent!

  7. the beauty of blogging is that you can do it whenever you want, and if you need to take a break it'll be there when you get back, right?

it's so hard not to see the work. i really need to work on that--then other times I need to see the work more. sometimes i can really tune it out when i need to see it. what a silly mess i am.

  8. Ginna, Absolutely positively YES! And the great perk is I'm the author so I can set all of the rules. :)

You're not in a mess. You are normal! Be thrilled! :D

  9. That would be one of my many wishes as well. I wish I didn't see as many "flaws" as I do in my home. I also wish I was Mary Poppins, could snap my fingers and things would march into place. But, alas, it is not to be...

  10. Lyndee, I'm still working on that snapping the fingers thing..... It's just gotta work!!

  11. Oh this made me laugh, and I so so needed it!

I love that little guy, I love you and I am told I use to do the same thing!

  12. Don't point it out and no one will be the wiser; we're all to focused on that boy, the towel and the feet! HA! It really makes me want to play outside all day long until I am filthy dirty just to see how big of a tub ring I can leave!

On second thought, now I am the one scrubbing that darn ring... Oh well, bring it on!

  13. Excellent lesson shared.

And your bathroom is in about the same condition mine is. :)

  14. Denae, You used to cover your head with a towel and hide under it or you used to have dirty knees and feet? :D I can remember my mother getting after me for going to bed with such dirty feet. Those were the days...

Natalie, I know!! Reality! Dang it!

Anaise, Thank you!! I'm sorry your bathroom isn't immaculate but I'm so very glad I'm not the only one!! :D

  15. I didn't see any of those other things until you mentioned them, Rach, which makes me think of the other day, when my Bible study babes were coming over, and one was here a bit early. I was running behind, and those are always a bad combo for Lori. I was dissing myself for the hose being stretched across the sidewalk, the dead plant that I hadn't tossed, the weeds that my husband hadn't "eaten" yet, blah blah blah. Irena looked at me funny and said, "I didn't notice any of that, just that you looked cute today and I need some water." ;) so there. Cute kid.

  16. Lori, It is so true. I was at a neighbors house today and she kept going on and on about her messy house. I had to laugh. I didn't see it! I didn't see a darn thing she was complaining about!

  17. Jody, You just try that with Ron and you let me know how many miliseconds you are able to keep the towel on. :D

Going to bed with dirty feet.......it's a country girl thing....and I can tell you the saying is very true. You can take the girl out of the country......but you can't take the country out of the girl. I'm living proof!
