A Good Reminder

As I sit here lying in bed, I gaze out my bedroom window at this view.  I am amazed at how quickly things have gone from grey to green.  To such bright and beautiful color.

The door bell rings.  There is a delivery.

Next to my bed sit these gorgeous flowers.  I wish you could smell them.  The roses are huge.  They are the biggest roses I have ever seen.  They come with a message.  A loving reminder:

"I just wanted you to have something right by your bed side or couch side in the days to come to remind you of how great our God really is.  Yeah we have had things taken from us with this illness, but things gained all the same.  We just have to be open to seeing them.  The flowers will remind you of life.  Color.  Spring.  Happiness.  Friendship!"

If it weren't for this illness....... I would have never met Miss J.  As you can see from my adventure post and this one, not getting to know and meet Miss J would be a terrible thing not to experience.   I am grateful that God brought us together.  Dare I say, I am grateful for the things I am learning and experiencing through this illness........   I am humbled and grateful...........

  3. i truly believe that in your life time you acquire a few eternal/great friends for life. And when you find them, you never let them go and they never let you go. Thus making it a great friendship, blessing, and you really feel that gratitude that they were placed in your life. Sounds like you have found one to add to your list!! My grandma was a FIRM believer that yellow roses life your spirit. :) I hope they lift yours! They are beautiful and I can smell them all the way over here! Love ya!

    1. There are so many times when I look back in my life and I see that God was preparing me or paving the way for something. If the only positive thing I glean from 'the crud' is Jody, then it will all be worth it. I truly mean that.

  9. I knew who those flowers were from, even before reading the note. Who else would it be? I think of all the wonderful people we have in our lives because of M's health problems. I think it has been a privilege to have been where we have been.
