My mother used to say, "The days are long, but the years move fast". I didn't grasp what she was saying until I was a mother myself. Some days and weeks can be extremely long. Months even, but years....... they go by so fast............
Note the lips trying hard not to smile. What ever you do...... don't smile and show teeth. Even when your whacked out mom is trying to make you laugh.
Sorry. Got caught up in the moment. Back to time passing all too quickly. For 19 years I have been adding little ones to my nest. Seven of them. Adding, adding, adding, not really believing that someday they'd actually start leaving. A week ago yesterday Mr. B moved out. He is living closer to the University where he is going to college. I can not believe the nerve! That a college age boy would rather live away from home with his best friend enjoying the life of a college student than live at home with his mother! Didn't I just bring him home from the hospital? Oh yeah....... that was 19 very short and fast years ago.......
Time. It never stops or waits for anyone. Make the most of time..............
And I bet some girl is going to look out her window across the parking lot and say, "That one....that is the one I have been looking for."
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome prince you have raised and set loose into the world....good job, you crazy mom!
That is what I did! I saw The SM across a parking lot and knew he was the one for me! :D And we lived happily ever after........
DeleteThat girl better keep her mitts off till that boy pays his dues!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah. I'm not sayin' it. That thing that people who go first always say. And I never will.
Really, is there nothing that's happening these days that will make me want to do something besides going back to bed and pulling the covers over my head?
Can I join you? We can put in a move and just stay in bed for a week.
Deletemovie. MOVIE!!!
DeleteI wanted to have my children close together, since I was years away from my closest siblings. And I did (although not as close as yours ;-)) Sometimes it seemed they were little all at once. But now I think it's going to feel like they up and leave me all at once. Ugh. Not looking forward to that either.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly my same reasoning and is exactly what is happening here! Which is why I am glad I'm adding a puppy. :D
DeleteNo! Time already? Such ticking threatens to drive a mother to madness. But I'm thinking wacky moms are the best.
ReplyDeleteHugs...
Thanks for the hug. I needed that today. Some days are stupid darn hard.
DeleteWhat a handsome boy! I hate thinking of my children leaving . . .
ReplyDeleteMe too so let's just not think. We'll tell our brains to shut up and rest. It is the Sabbath!!!
DeleteHold onto your hat, gal. The years bring the grandbabies and they'll come in larger quantities - especially for you, dear one. You'll be quite a fine granny some day. You won't be left behind. Your nest will just grow larger.
ReplyDeleteYIKES! It's almost 11 p.m. and my daughter and granddaughter will be arriving early manana! Nightie night.
Grandbabies............ I'm looking forward to it! In a few years.... we won't rush things. :)
DeleteIt's 11:30. I'm going to regret this staying up late business tomorrow..........
Just one more thing before I check out . . . the silhouette on the header is so amazing. Others have mentioned it, but I have to do so, as well. I love the wisps of your hair in the wind and the signature cowboy hat and all the sizes and shapes. But what I like the most is the image of solidarity. Hand-in-hand. Through all the ups and downs, good times and bad. Each of you have SO MUCH, because you have each other. That doesn't just happen. It's built with love and tolerance and commitment. You've got all of that. (And a bit of sass too.)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginger!! I love how you said all of this. Because that is life! Life is up and down and crazy but we do have each other and that is what matters....... I love that Ginger. Thank you.
DeleteYikes. Now it's 11:02 p.m.
ReplyDelete11:31
DeleteThe End! Going to bed!!!
