Painting Update

I know you are all just dying to see how the painting project is going but I couldn't resist posting this little gem first.  I was in the process of taking photos of the room and got a little side tracked.... It happens. Often.

And then this happened and I couldn't resist taking a photo of these two wrestling around which is why Zoe's head is a blur.  The look on Levi's face is NOT a blur however.  It speaks volumes.

So, first and foremost.  When one takes photos of their house and it is dark outside and the lighting is terrible you get a grainy yellowy photo.  My apologies.  You get the idea however.  Yellow kitchen is now a chocolate color and white kitchen.

You can see I've not gotten to the room downstairs yet.  The walls are still the yellow color and man I'm not looking forward to doing that room with all of it's book cases and stuff and stuff and STUFF to try and move and get around.

You can't see it in these photos but my walls are blushing.  They are NAKED!!!!  One thing we've noticed right away is without the quilts on the walls absorbing all of the noise, what we thought was noisy has become noisy times 12 plus echos.

Oh look!  Another chocolate wall!  I do love me some chocolate............   It is going to be months before this project is completed.  We have to wait until spring before we can buy the wood that is going to go up on the walls and we haven't decided how we want to do behind the wood stove yet with the mantel and all.........  In the meantime the place is looking lots of white and sterile and I'm gritting my teeth trying to be patient and not go all sorts of crazy.  White is good right????  Yeah, that's what I thought.......  boring!!!  Spring better hurry up and get here quick so I can get some color up on my walls again!!

In the meantime, this ought to help warm me up.

  1. Hang up a few of those quilts while you wait for Spring! That'll get you some color again.
It's looking good! Hang in there!

    1. Because my walls will change when we hang the wood I have to wait to hang quilts but that will just make it that much more exciting when I do start to hang color on the walls. I can be patient......... okay. I'm not fooling am I? :D

  2. I am going with almost all white so that I can change things just with accessories when I want a new color. White is good! I am also not having many doors so that I can put up curtains to change colors when I want...like no pantry door, no laundry room door, no closet door...going to be so much fun! Not boring at all.

    1. That is the plan. What I am hoping. To be able to add spice and color through accessories and I can change them as the whim hits me. I am looking at fabric samples right now for curtains. Curtains are a fun changeable splash of color!

I could never get away with not having doors on pantries, closets, and laundry rooms. Way to unorganized and messy. :D

  3. Oh my gosh, that first photo looks professional!!!! Littlest saw it and said, "I want that puppy...really much." But clearly he is really much being loved at your home. Levi's expression - awesome! Your home is coming along beautifully. Funny how it seems so slow as one's moving along through the process, and then in review it becomes astonishing how much was accomplished. I love the chocolate colour. Yum! And that last photo? - also a heart-melter. BEAUTIFUL.

    1. I want what Littlest has so really much too! :)

When the project is over.......... I'll let you know if the process moved along and was astonishing. Right now.......... I feel in the thick of it and I'm running out of bags of chocolate chips to get me through.
