Horsin' A'round

I can remember in elementary school decorating a shoe box for my classmates to put their Valentines in.  I would cover it in red and pink construction paper......  maybe add a few doilies.......  some stickers....... tons of hearts........

The Native's like to make boxes to put their Valentines in too!  They've made boxes that look like sharks that their classmates had to put their hands in it's mouth to place the Valentine inside, there have been dinosaurs, a frog...........

But never have any of them been as disturbing as this.......  For the record.  I had nothing to do with this project!  Just sayin'...............

Mom!  I promise.  I did not do this!!!  You believe me right?  The SM isn't as innocent as he looks!  Mom?  Mom?

Crickets..........

Sigh...........  Even when I'm not being naughty I still get blamed.............

    1. You're not really wondering that, right? Because, YES!

My favorite part was, "And MOM! You had to lift up its tail and put the valentines in BACK THERE!!"

  2. That is completely amazing! How can a face like that sweet pea, come up with something as ...ummm...what is the word I am looking for?....Something that clever....yeah, that's the word! I mean really, where else could you put it?

    1. The horses mouth? :D But then...... that probably wouldn't have gotten Henny Penny first place in the competition.

  3. lol. i can see it now...HEADLINE lastest news "MOM SENDS DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL WITH HORSE VALENTINES BOX, LOTS OF GROSSED OUT KIDS". A 9 year old girls brings a horse valentines box to school where you insert the valentines into the horse's behind. Some are saying it is inappropriate. School tried to get ahold of mom but mom's answering machine read "If this is the school calling, I am NOT at FAULT! Please call my husband at 1-800-GUILTY or leave a message at the behind..I MEAN BEEP!!!...

  7. TOO funny! At first I thought the box was wildly crafty and sweet, then I really fell in love with it when I realized that it also has...a sense of humour. You know, whenever I knit up a horse and I have to shove all of that stuffing in through its behind I always feel like I'm violating it somehow. I wonder if it would feel more dignified if it were valentines that I was inserting. Nope, the word inserting just wrecked it for me. Still, the horse is FUNNY.

    1. As you say, :) no matter how you put it or say it.... it's just downright disturbing. And of course won the competition because we are talking about the sense of humor of fifth graders........ :) We won't say anything about the sense of humor of the adults involved.

  8. Hahahaha HA! I saw her box on the way home and I was blown away with how awesome it was! But, I did miss that little detail of where the Valentine's were put in. Now, I have to say, it is still GENIUS! And freaking funny to boot!

    1. When I saw it yesterday morning before it was taken off to school I about fell down the stairs I thought it was quite funny. I was blown away by the creativity of it all. I did wonder before I went to bed how in the world The SM was going to manage helping Henny Penny make that rectangle box into a horse!

    1. I have to say it is one of the better ones The SM has helped with over the years. They've all been amazing but this one...... this one just makes me laugh.

  10. Wow. This headline outdoes my little heart. But I gotta say, for the SM to do a self portrait, just for his little girl. I'm moved. I really am. I just hope the horse isn't. At least, not till she gets him home.

  11. After all of the valentines and treat are retreived, maybe we can use it as a suggestion/complaint box for the natives. ;)

  13. Oh that impish grin on Henny Penny face! What a delight!!! That's truly the best Valentine box in the whole wide world. If there were a Valentine Box Contest, she would definitely win. Definitely.
