Recital Time!

The Natives, their extremely talented piano teacher, and Henny Penny's Best Friend
in the whole wide world,  the lovely Miss J.

I could post several photos of The Native's acting like punks as I tried to get a decent photo of them, photo after photo after photo........ this is about the only one I could find where one of them wasn't making some sort of awful face.  I won't though because I know you just want to hear them play so..... without my further yodeling I give you........... The Native's Piano Recital 2012.  And yes, for those of you that have been around for awhile, it was at a new location.  Our church, since the Gallery where they normally have it has raised their obnoxious prices!  Unlike our salaries.......  Oops!  Did I just say that out loud?

Mr. C and Mr. B playing a duet "The Stars and Stripes". A fitting last number for the end of an era. This is Mr. B's last recital. One of many things I need to be brave about this year and embrace!

  6. I loved this. Completely. I listened last night and again tonight. Kind of crazy.

I grew up with three pianos in my home. My mother taught piano and she was constantly putting on recitals. (It seemed like constantly to me.) I know the caliber of the average kid learning piano. Your kids are pretty darn amaaaaazing.

I was amazed at Mr. M's perfect timing - especially in the duet number with the maestro. We toss around the word "gifted" way too easily, but I'd be tempted to use it with these young students. They'll be forever grateful that you made it possible for them to gain this skill.

My mother was horribly concerned that my kids had impoverished childhoods because I simply couldn't figure out a way to manage the piano lessons and so they didn't learn. Oh well. In her will, my mom gave me her piano. I ended up giving it to my niece because it would have been a reminder of what I failed to accomplish.

Last night, I brushed my teeth and got ready for bed while listening to the Stars & Stripes. Maybe I'll do that again tonight!
