Signs

The snow and ice are melting and little shoots are poking their heads out of the frozen brown earth.  Spring.  It's coming!

Wanna know something?  I just learned something I didn't know before about puppies.  You know how when you hold a sleeping infant they'll suck in their sleep?  They make little sucking noises with their mouths and it is so adorable and you know that they are dreaming about milkies.  Puppies do that too!  It's true!  If you sit and hold a puppy as much as I have been lately you'd believe me.  They dream about milkies in their sleep and make cute little sucking noises.  It's adorable!   You're welcome for this little tidbit of information about puppies brought to you from the lady who is still eating crow.....

  1. I love seeing the first bulbs of spring pop up! It makes me happy ;-)
Sounds like the crow is worth the pleasure you're having with that new puppy. Eat up and enjoy ;-)

    1. Stuffing my mouth with crow these days!!

The bulbs are coming up even more. I'm so ready for warmer weather...... I think. That does mean more chores.....

  2. Hey, shouldn't those bulbs be under a little more dirt? My daffodils are up about 2 inches....
They might as well come up holding a sign that says, HOPE.....

You may singlehandedly wipe out the crow population in your neck of the woods. :-)

    1. Uh, yeah. About those bulbs that are on top of the dirt...... I'm sure they are on top of the dirt because I am a good mum and I'm showing The Natives what bulbs look like when they start to grow in the spring. Yup! I'm sure that is why they are lying on top of the dirt and not properly planted. Has nothing to do with when fall came I was done with gardening.

  3. You are really good at capturing very tiny signs of spring. So promising!

I've always had a dog, but never had a puppy. I didn't know they sucked like dreaming babies. I can just see you observing such a phenomenon as you cradle your little furry ball of love.

    1. I've had puppies before but didn't notice any of them suckling in their dreams. Zoe tends to be quite an animated dreamer. She is very vocal in her sleep and thinks she is still romping with her littler mates I swear by the way she acts in her sleep. It is, of course, adorable.

  4. You and the 'mister' are too funny. I won't admit that I've done just that with Zoe. Nope. Not admitting anything!

  5. Visible signs of spring - wow!!!! And I've seen a sleep-suckling puppy before too! Heart melting, isn't it?

And I forgot to tell you in your most recent post that I am so impressed that you are going to run a marathon. That is determination and stamina in massive measure.

    1. I'm beginning to think I'm out of my mind for even attempting a marathon........ But hey! I'll only turn 40 once. Mine as well make it memorable right?

  6. When I first saw this post (between ancestor sightings), I couldn't bear to look at it. It was STILL COLD AND DEAD OVER HERE. Now we have snowdrops, a few crocus, but I am so hardened and bitter, and I don't believe they are real. I'm in Santa Fe with Gin just now and it SNOWED THIS MORNING.

And I am not ever doing a marathon.

  7. Do I dare tell you that here in UT, the state you left, it is gorgeous and only going to get even more gorgeous as the week goes on? :) You'll come back to sun and warm and it can melt that bitter hardened heart of yours.
