    2. And I'm betting that this is going to be the Christmas Card picture this year. Who's the dude with the goatee? I wonder if he plays bongo drums? or maybe he's a great painter?

  3. Wow! somewhere a lot more spectacular than I've ever been to that's for sure. Everything is just so big! We don't have any landscapes quite that awesome here in the UK.

    1. The Grand Canyon is just amazing. Being there and seeing what water and wind can do over millions of years...... it is hard to wrap my brain around it and capturing it in a photo frustrates me because...... I just can't!

  4. Umm - in some magnificent, rough-hewn, this-is-the-heart-and-spirit-of-America place? Not home. But then, neither are WE!!

  5. I haven't been to the South Rim in a long time. The pictures are beautiful and breath taking. To breath that fresh air and admire the wonderful scenery. What a great Sunday!
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is also and excellent place to visit. It's a little bit higher in altitude and there are a lot more pine trees. What great memories you are sharing as a family.

    1. :D We went to the South Rim years ago. This year it was the North Rim. The difference in temperature being so high up was incredible. It was actually pleasant! Where we were staying we were well into the hundreds.

  9. I know! But, technically I can't play because I cheated through texts. Not knowingly, albeit. Beautiful scenery for a beautiful family pic of an equally beautiful family and a solo shot of my very beautiful friend. :)

  10. What a magical place! Especially looking at the third shot from the top. Actually, they are all lovely, lovely pictures of grandeur.

I grew up on the music of the Grand Canyon Suite by Grofe. In fact, I just found it on YouTube - the very recording I use to hear on my mom's LP, conducted by Grofe himself. Looking at this post brought me back to music of my childhood.

    Thank you.
