For Donna

The other day I was looking through my yarn stash and found some yarn that screamed at me.  Did you know yarn can scream?  It can, and when it does, it is very annoying.  Rather than listen to it scream I grabbed it along with some other yarn and started to knit.  I had no idea what it was going to be or how it was going to turn out.

I had originally thought it would be a baby hat but as you can see...... it didn't want to be a baby hat.  I am willing to bet that Henny Penny schemed with this yarn.  As you can see, it fits her perfectly.  Personality and all!  And would you look at that!  It just so happens to be her favorite colors too.......  Told ya there was scheming going on behind my back!

I have a Blogger friend named, Donna.  She has been learning to knit and made her self a hat which she calls her, "Seussical Hat".  If you click on this link you'll see why and find that the name is very much appropriate.  I think that perhaps there is a Seussical Hat epidemic going on.........

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Screaming yarn is totally Seusical, of course.

    The yarn began to cry
And do not ask my why
    But crying I can't take
    So something I must make....

    A baby hat so sweet?
    But no,
    A Henny hat complete!
    Of course...
    The smile does prove
    A love quite huge...

Well done...and well come to the Seusical Hat party!

  2. I love the hat and it is perfectly Seusical! Donna's poem is fabulous and didn't I see somewhere it was Dr Seuss's birthday recently? What better way to celebrate than by making a hat :-) So you think those things are catching??

    4. I say let Kristen do the talking and you do the dancing...with fists curled and furled...well, only if necessary, of course! And if Kristen"s well reasoned and insightful words don't do the trick then you can both break out and 'dance' with the poor man.

    8. From what I understand Rach, is that he has to listen to the other side. Someone made a deal with the Devil (a.k.a the Federal Government) and has already started spending the money that was given to complete some slated projects as long as this River Project went through. So, the result is someone in D.C. making decisions for us in Provo. Chaps my hide. What I hope happens is the compromise the Allens are asking for. As far as I can tell, it is a win win for everyone.
PS- I'll be the camera woman to capture all the dancing/talking for Donna. ;)

    9. You've heard it right. The problem is, there is no win win situation here. The marshes. Mosquitoes comes with marshes. What comes with mosquitoes.......... Which is why I am going and talking to the mayor. Well, one of the reasons. We NEED that pasture land out there! Pasture and farming land is getting eaten up all over the country. Not good. We need to be supporting the local small farmers or this country is in even more serious trouble........

  6. Love it! It really turned out cute- yours and Donna's!
What are ya'll talking to the Mayor about? Is it something I need to be yakking at him about, too? I'd like to yak at him about a few things myself, so I might as well join in on yours. :)

  7. :D All I'll have to do is look for the blond woman who can't sit still and contain herself looking from face to face in the crowd and I think I'll be able to spot you.

  8. Ummm...yeah. Didn't think about the whole mosquito thing. That's all we need down here- MORE mosquitoes! We will have to talk more about this in person, instead of through your blog comments. :)

  9. Oh, oh! Ummmm...just mindlessly clapping in delight here. For the hat. For Donna's poem. SO much fun! And I DID look at this post earlier, but WHY DIDN'T I COMMENT???? Can't remember what distracted me, but it was probably 2-years-old, or 5, or 8, or a teenager.

    Still clapping....
