Homework

After an entire day of being cooped up in a classroom at school, having to do homework is made a whole lot better when done up in your favorite cherry tree........................

  1. Wish I'd had one back in the day. In New York, our trees were humongous - too tall to reach the bottom branches. In LA, no trees. In Texas, yucky trees. I was deprived.

    1. I had glorious trees growing up and spent much of my time in them.

  2. I love this...
The only thing better would be if I could TEACH amongst the leaves as well... :-)

    1. Can you imagine? A whole grove of trees full of students and you. :D

    2. (Except for that whole numb bum and lack of circulation thing... hmmm.... maybe I better rethink this... lol)

    1. I agree. A carefree happy childhood. And a body that bends and doesn't hurt after sitting weird for five minutes.

  4. I know! That is what I thought. If I sat in that tree for one minute my bum would be sore and my legs numb for lack of circulation. Getting old isn't fun.

  5. Yeah, homework is the pits! (Pits. Cherry pits. I'm not so funny.)

Middling would get along famously with your crew. I have countless photos of the child clambouring up a tree, or just her legs dangling from the tree. And sometimes hanging upside down, hair sweeping the air.

    1. :D I like your sense of humor. I think you and I would get along famously taking a 'pit' stop under the cherry tree sipping something cold and sweet while our girls hung out above us in the tree.

    2. Hair sweeping the air.

I like that image. But then, would you have to take her down and smack her against the side of the house the way I do the broom and dust cloth - just every so often?

    3. Depends on the air she's sweeping. Her magical air where she lives I'd bet not but here in the city with the smog and all of the smoke this year from the fires......... much smacking I'd think. But where Wabi's girl is from....... she just needs to go to the magical falls from time to time and all is made better. :D

  6. Oh, I don't know - trying to decide which foot to actually put weight on - that's fun. And which side of the behind is going to scream when you lean over or sit down - guessing games. Those are fun, right? Like the one I play every Sunday when I don't want to wear my reading glasses to lead the music and I get to guess which word I'm going to bellow next at the top of my lungs. I think people take bets on that sometimes, which is fun. Really. Fun.

  7. We like it when you beller out the wrong words! Makes all the old men with their chins in their chest snoring perk up for a minute or two before their chins find their chests and the drool starts to flow again. ;)

My favorite is trying to walk after sitting on the floor for a few minutes. That's always fun to watch me as I lurch across the floor for a few steps.

  8. There's something so completely magical about sitting in a tree. I'm glad you caught this moment. They may not always be up in the trees, but they'll never forget the feeling of it.

    I don't.

    1. I don't either!! That is why I had to take a photo of these two. Because I can remember doing the same thing! As if it were yesterday........
