Argyle
I'm learning something new. Proof that old dogs can learn new tricks........ I told my niece forever ago that I'd knit something for her baby. Her baby is graduating from high school now so I figure I ought to get on it.
Kidding. But still. Months have gone by. If I don't hurry my nieces baby will be grown out of this little sweater vest I'm making and I'll have to cut it up and make socks out of it or something.
Argyle it is called. Who comes up with a name like argyle? It sounds like a gargoyle! Do gargoyles wear argyle I wonder..............

Ooh, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers the rest of it turns out!
DeleteWhat a cool trick to learn! I'm hoping I want to finish knitting my sweater now that it is cooling off, but not really feeling it yet.
ReplyDeleteI don't think gargoyles in argyles would be too scary...aren't gargoyles supposed to be scary?
Knitting seems to be more of a winter thing...... with air conditioning it helps.
DeleteI dunno........ if I saw a gargoyle wearing argyle... I might be creeped out.
since its blue im hoping and hoping that I see this in the mail soon :) But if you are talking about another niece...ignore this comment :) Either way, you are wickedly talented! Yes...wickedly is a word!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, since I know you like blue....... and I told you I'd make something....... hmmmmmm........ you best be checking your mail soon...... just in case........... oh hey! Speaking of..... what IS your address. :D (Email me)
DeleteThat's because I love seeing your comments. :D
ReplyDeleteArgyle is SCOTTISH you silly. There's a town in Scotland - or a county or something. And everybody plays golf there and wears argyle vests and socks and things. All the time. Even to bed. It has nothing to do with gargoyles, which are architectural elements that are able, at the same time, to direct storm water and frighten away demons. We don't have any on our house, but we probably should. And I don't know how you are doing that, making that little one color run through those diamonds the way you are. Show off.
ReplyDeleteArgyle jammies and undies. Fancy that! That IS scarier than gargoyles.
DeleteWe don't have gargoyles on our houses because we don't get enough rain to warrant anything directing our spouts!
Oh. My. Goodness. THAT is so cute! I love argyle and now that I'm seen Rachel knit Argyle I love it even more.
ReplyDeleteYou're just buttering me up cuz you want me to knit Will something........ :D
DeleteNow I want gargoyles. And argyle. I mean, I don't want to knit anything argyle, because I am nowhere near as talented as you. But I still want an argyle something. (But not an argyle gargoyle.) Would this be the cuttiting that Levi was talking about?
ReplyDeleteNo argyle gargoyle? Where is your sense of adventure? Personally.... I think the farm needs one right on the corner of your magical farm house. :D
DeleteYes, it would seem you and I have an issue with cuttiting.
Lovely knitting Rachel - I love colourwork, though often get in a right tangle when working it!
ReplyDeleteLOL! That is me! A constant tangle of yarn. Constant enough that The SM has commented on it.
