Santa's Workshop

Ever since I can remember, my father has been making things out of wood.  At Christmastime, he makes gifts for us kids and calls his wood working shop, Santa's Workshop.

I have a feeling that when my dad several years ago made this stepping stool for me, Miss Short Shanks who has to climb up on her kitchen counters to reach things in the top cupboards.....   had no idea all of the uses this stool would be used for.

The latest use.  A right smashing train tunnel!  A tunnel perfect for a little cougar with dirty feet to perch upon.

  1. Great thinking for the small train conductor! I used to be all climby on things like that....knees can't take it anymore. sigh.
Well, I can still climb, but can't fold up...or even get up sometimes! :-)

    1. I hear you on the knees! They don't unbend like they used to. I can get them to bend..... it's the undoing that is my 'undoing'.

    2. That's not good. You are still just a youngster! I just need to lose another 20 pounds and see how the hinges work.

  2. I'm getting all melancholy these days, missing toys and play in my house. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Good grief! Come on down and we'll cure you of that as often as you need! I'll trade you places and sit in quiet and solitude for a spell.

      We might be onto something............

  3. That is EXACTLY what my youngest son would be doing with that stool. Your stool is way better than our stools though. The step stools are just ugly 'ol plastic with blasted little grooves, presumably to make them non-slip, but all they really do is collect dirt and make it impossible to clean.

    1. We've some of those stools too. Not as fun as this one. This one has been so many things it wasn't intended for I think it has identity issues. It gets carted all over the house and has been dinged all up dinging up walls in the process.

It has a lot of character. We'll call it that which must make the stool male......... (Says she who is irritated that she has to color her hair because grey hair on a gal isn't distinguishing and adding character like getting old does to males.............)

  5. Now I get it. Making stuff comes through the genes. That's why you make such cool stuff for the ornament party . . . as you do throughout the year.
