No Gift Bags? No Problem!

Henny Penny and Mr. C made some gifts to give to their friends that they ride horses with on the weekends.  Being the completely organized person that I am, I didn't have any gift bags on hand to put their gifts in.

This is what you find when you turn to the Internet and all of the creative people out there.  You find blogs like this that teach you how to make your own gift bags.

We chose to use newspaper because there is no shortage of newspaper around in our house.  Craft paper of any sort would be really cute, scrapbook paper.........  I was thinking the ads that are shiny that we all get in the mail with all of the Christmas toys and such would be really cool looking.

Next Internet search....... how to make manila envelopes.  I don't seem to have any of those on hand either......

  1. Well done! And very resourceful of you. I am drawn to paper crafts, so this gets me thinking (and thereby completely avoiding the cleaning that must be done, because my sister arrives TOMORROW). Large pages from an old falling apart children's picture book might be neat for kid's gift bags. Kids' abstract artwork? I had better follow that link to see what sized paper is required.

  2. MAPS! The glossy kind from National Geographic. I want to make a map gift bag. Now. I really don't want to clean.

  5. Nat, They were really easy to make. I didn't put on the handles so they were even quicker and easier.

  8. My sister in law was making bows out of old book pages - print and illustration, and just about any kind of paper = so cool. And I like making gift boxes out of christmas cards - that's fun, too. Your bags are TOTALLY cool. Wabi - what a brain!
