Faith

Once upon a time there was a mommy and a daddy who wanted to have a baby.  They tried and tried for many years.  It was a hard time for them.  They prayed a lot and they exercised a whole lot of faith.

In not the too far future a little baby girl named, Faith (click on Faith to see the cutest wittle video ever!) will be born.  I just got so excited for my niece and her husband I went a tad crazy with my knitting needles.  I'm not sure which I like more, the sweater or the adorable ruffled leg warmers.

  1. Oh, man. How can we see this? Really? Unbelievable. And your gift is wonderful. Ruffles and all! And those leaves in their header - WOW. And you WOW. And me (pant, pant - are we there yet??/??)

  2. Man. How cool are those 3D ultrasounds and all of your hard work! Almost makes me want another...almost. :)

Thanks for the girl time today. Much needed...for the eyebrows and sanity.

  3. Okay, Rachel - will you make me an equally awesome outfit that I can gift my newest niece next April? I will pay you handsomely. (Or beautifully, whichever you prefer.) Because everyone knows that hand made gifts are everyone's favorite, yet I do not have that skill. Unless they want me to make sign language videos for her or something. (p.s. I am pretty sure they're okay without videos.)

  4. Marseille, I think so too!

Kristen, The new ultrasounds are just incredible. They blow me away. Breathe easily. We're there.

Nat, I so needed the girl time too. Thanks for going with me.

Gerb, I would love to! Do you want the same yarn? A pink and brown stripe pattern........ let me know what colors you want and I'll do it!

  6. Donna, I got a wee bit excited when I found about this little one coming into the world. Baby Faith has been a long time in deciding to come to my niece and her husband.

  7. Am I correct in thinking that you developed this skill of knitting when you were quarantined, and cloistered due to WNV? If so, what a blessing this has become in your life and in the lives of others. Always gotta wrap yourself up in the silver lining.

  8. Oh- Rachel! I LOVE them! The sweater is to die for and the leg warmers KILL me! Thank you so much for thinking of us. Not only are we so excited for our little Faith, but it's so wonderful to share this with the people we love. You've got mad skills.....

  9. Kathy, You are correct. That is exactly when I started/learned to knit. It is one of many blessings I have been given through this trial in my life.

Mae Mae, :D I'm glad you like your gift. I will get it in the mail after Sarah sees it in person in a week. She wants to see it before I ship it off. I love you tons and miss you tons and tons!!

  10. Your creations are incredible, Rachel! I LOVE the colours you've used. And the ruffles on the leg warmers - so, so sweet and clever! I'd have never thought of it. But darnit, NOW I'm thinking of it. And I'll probably keep on thinking about it until I knit it right on out of my head.

  11. Wabi, :D It's not an original design. I got it out of this pattern book: http://www.amazon.com/60-Quick-Baby-Knits-Superwash/dp/1936096137/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1322536429&sr=1-3

  12. Rachel- Same yarn would be awesome! I am seriously in LOVE with this little set. THANKS YOU THANK YOU! Just email me or facebook me or...gasp...CALL me when it's done and let me know how much I owe ya! My niece is due on April Fools but I'd love to give it to them sooner. (Not sure how long these creations take...)

Seriously, THANK YOU!! This is going to be such a great gift! (And, incidentally, YOU have such a great gift! Thanks for sharing it!)

  13. @Gerb & Rachel, Your ideas sound great for getting together when the set is done. May I perhaps suggest you two exchange the goods at a get together, like say at a (gasp) LUNCH! Just a thought...

  14. Loved reading your niece's reaction to seeing the newly knitted clothes for her little Faith.

The video of the baby in the womb was really spectacular. She really DOES have chubby cheeks!
