You know you're married to an engineer when....

monstrosities like this adorn the center of your kitchen table. You know you've married an engineer when your husband comes home and tells you that he has seen a tortilla press at a store but thinks it is wimpy and is going to make his own.

Think of all the possibilities! I can now press my own flowers or all of the natives Sunday trousers.

Notice the attention to detail. The little touches like this gold handle that make this tortilla press so unique!

Or the lever that the two babies can sit on and play teeter totter on or launch water balloons at the neighbors as they drive by.

This is no ordinary tortilla press folks. Oh no, this sucker is so powerful you have to actually clamp it down on the kitchen bench with these decorative clamps I gave my SM for Christmas a few years back. I just knew they'd come in handy for something.

Well now what do you know, would ya look at that! A perfectly round tortilla!

An activity the whole family can participate in!

This is the part where I participate.......the sampling of the tortillas........you know........just in case...

The cool thing about being married to an engineer is that everything they make is multi functional. AKA tortilla maker/earthquake shelter. Should an earthquake occur the natives have all been taught to stand under one of their dads creations......the arbor......the train table.....and now, the tortilla press. Aint nuthin' gonna break these suckers!

  3. Won't fit in a drawer. But few things that are truly exciting will. Will it make low-carb whole wheat ones? You could probably crack whole wheat with it. Did the natives assist in the construction? Did Native #1 make it home in the storm? He is getting so dang handsome, he'll be a hand-full for sure. And he's getting smart, too. Sigh. Wish my smart natives were here.
