Jealousy

I realize that after reading about my life lately and the things I get to do some of you are having fits of jealousy. It's only natural that the image of a person sitting in a lazy boy day after day watching old TV re-runs would sound glamorous but I am here to tell you it's not! It is hard work dang it! Really hard work.

Take this yarn for example. It's made from bamboo. I know! Bamboo of all things. Weird! Anyway, I had to take this stuff and actually make something cute out of it! Hours of cuteness! Talk about blood, sweat, and tears.

A scarf. A ruffly lacey swirly scarf.

What's that you say? My baby doesn't look thrilled to be displaying my scarf for me? Noooo, he's not trying to flip the scarf off of his neck. He's dancing. Dancing for joy to be standing there in his jammies with a ruffly scarf about his little neck, crusty left over bowls from breakfast, doing what ever I make him.....

Be jealous of my baby. Not me. My life is tough man!

  5. I don't envy that child. Baby, he is no longer. I wouldn't want to have to start Kindergarten soon. Because that would mean that soon, I have to do third grade, then 5th, then 7th, then 9th then HS and then go for my degree again. And have crushes and be snubbed by people who are popular and not get asked to dances. I think I will pass. Once is enough. And anyway, I know that you will let me borrow that scarf if I ask, which you know I won't, because I don't have a girly bone in my whole, entire body. Which is sad, because if I did, I'd know what to do about the fact that my eyelashes no longer exist and my skin looks like a topographical map of the moon.

I am sitting on the couch with my foot in epson salts. I still am not envious of him. But I am of you, because I think you probably have the magic knitting gene, and I do not. But I don't envy you, because you are a lively pony in a small stall - unlike me, the scruffy, blousy fat pony too lazy to run in the wild.

So there. THis comment was brought to you by: mothers against Rachel being bored, and so just maundering on and on and on to take her mind off of the sleet that's drooling all over the world and my hurt foot. So. There you go.

  8. Natalie, Anybody can knit. I promise. It isn't hard at all. Enjoying it is another thing. Good thing I enjoy it or not only would I be borred to tears by sitting around but I'd be cussing at yarn too. Oh yeah! I do that sometimes. Never mind.

Chastina, The pout. Yes, the pout. A common fixture on his face.

Ginna, The yarn is actually really cool. It feels more like string than yarn. More like a thread. Supposedly it holds up better than yarn. We'll see!

Kristen, No joke. Nor I. I do not want to go through the painfullness of growing up either which is kinda a stupid thing for me to say because I've not grown up yet. And you do too have girly bones in your body! You show glimpses of them every now and then. You doth not fool me.

Yeah, I don't envy me sometimes either but the lessons learned, the blessings we've received, I wouldn't trade so I guess at the end of the day I'll still take my own laundry.

The sleet....has turned to fluffy pretty snow. I like the snow. It makes all of our yards equal. You can't see my ugly one under the snow. :D

Misty, Me too! Me too! And oh yeah! Me too! ;)

Hanna, Thank you. Wait until summer. By the end you'll be sick of the model. :D
