That really is cool! I love it...anyone can do it.....you say that so easily...so....nonchalantly....ANYONE.... Like, what kind of sweet bread? Do you make places for the eggs before you bake it? Etc, etc, etc...:)
:) Misty, any sweet bread recipe that you like. Before hand, you boil your eggs and color them. Make your sweet bread and braid it. In between the loopy's place your colored eggs, let the bread rise, smear egg white all over the risen bread and cook!
My mom just placed colored raw eggs in the bread dough and then the eggs would cook as the bread did but for some reason, (I think because I use a different sweet bread dough recipe that doesn't cook as long) my eggs come out uncooked so I boil my eggs first.
My mom added some other pointers when I told her about this post. She said when she did it she didn't braid the bread but twisted it which would look asthethically better and not so lopsided like mine with the egg placement. She also said that when she brushed the egg white on after the dough had risen she would then take and sprinkle on colorful sprinkles.
I'd forgotten that fun part!!! Good thing mamma remembers.
WOW! That bread is amazing, it looks delicious and super festive. Is it hard?
ReplyDeleteNope Ginna it isn't! It is just a sweet bread braided. Anyone can do it.
